L’Atelier du Cadratin

Recently I had the chance to meet up with one of my customers, Joanna Bantick, who also happens to run an incredible letterpress studio in Switzerland called L'Atelier Cadratin. She was spending a weekend in Provence, hunting for treasures in the Isle sur la Sorgue antiques fair and as she was in the neighbourhood we took a leap and met up for a coffee. Over four and a half hours, we shared our stories of brocanting, our passion for creating and for collecting beads and ribbon and of course letterpress.

I was so thrilled to have met someone who is not only incredibly talented but passionate about creativity and individuality, to say I was hugely complimented that she had bought one of my cuffs and that she got so much pleasure out of wearing it is an understatement...... she has encouraged me no end and introduced me and my work to manyof her friends around the world for which I am so so grateful!

As our baby girl is literally days from joining this world I can't make the exhibition that her studio, l'Atelier du Cadratin is having in Rousset, near Aix en Provence so I wanted to share the invitation here for those that might be nearby and would like to check it out!

It will run for the month of June, and will feature  mix of artwork and typography in the 'Chapelle du Calvaire'  in Rousset, near Aix-en-Provence.  The exhibition is open to the public at weekends from 15h - 18h30.

Photograph of the Atelier, I can't help but drool over those gorgeous letterpress drawer units, what I wouldn't give to have the chance to sneak a peak inside the drawers of those meubles de metier.

Here is a sneak of some of the wonderful letterpress work that the Atelier du Cadratin creates

I loved watching this video of an event in the Atelier - enjoy!
