So hello.....

...It has been TOO long, I can't believe the last time I properly wrote here was at the end of June. Where did July go?

In truth, this blog has been completly neglected as I've been holed up in my atelier experimenting with all sorts of exotic mediums including resin and acrylic. Patience is not one of my strengths, especially as up to now, I have only had a precious 2 hour slot (during Louis's nap time) to tinker with my jewellery making. However all that changed when Montse, an angel sent to us from Mexico city, agreed to au pair for the summer. She allowed me to dedicate two full days a week to really focus on making my antique silk and ribbon jewellery.

There have been many many disappointing moments when after 24 hours of curing, an antique ribbon has either disintegrated or has absorbed enough resin to become unrecognisable....so I stripped back all of the fancy 'special effects' and sure enough when I wasn't trying to complicate the process something magic happened....and I love the finished look!

Here is a little teaser....

I am nearly ready to start sharing some pics of finished cuffs and my heirloom frames, I just need to set aside a few hours to photograph them properly and give them a final polish before I post them here and of course for sale in my etsy shop. In the meantime I have loads of photographs and stories in the blog bank so will hopefully be back to normal posting this week.
